The Spaniel Studio - Wedding Stationery and Calligraphy

THE WEDDING INVITATION SUITE PROCESS

FOR SEMI CUSTOM WEDDING INVITATIONS (3 months to complete)

Let’s get into it!

Once we formalize your order, I will upload into your client private portal your wedding questionnaire within a day in order to start working on the customization of the specific stationery pieces and add-ons selected by you.

CUSTOM DESIGN

Once you’ve filled out your questionnaire, I will share a first draft of your suite within a week. The design process will last approximately 1 month and include up to 3 drafts. Once approved, we’ll get into the production process.

INVITATION PRODUCTION

Once I have your approval for every piece, I will proceed with the production, printing, and calligraphy addressing process. The whole invitation production will last 1 month and a half from getting the approval of the designs.

ASSEMBLY & DELIVERY

Once produced, I’ll proceed with the assembly process in one week, and then with packing your stationery the most caring way. I always send with UPS Express shipping (free for my clients), which takes approx 1 to 2 business days.

FOR FULLY CUSTOM WEDDING INVITATIONS (4 moths to complete)

INQUIRY AND QUOTATION

Fill out the form in the ‘Custom Stationery Inquiries’ section to check my availability and receive a specific quote. Once you formalize the contracting of my proposal, the process of creating your exclusive stationery from scratch will begin.

CUSTOM DESIGN

The design process for fully custom invitations takes two months from the moment we formalize the project. During this time we will maintain a fluid contact to discuss design options and I will send you the different versions for your approval.

INVITATION PRODUCTION

Once I have your approval for every piece, I will proceed with the printing process and envelope calligraphy addressing. The whole invitation production will last 1 month and a half from getting the design approval for all the pieces.

ASSEMBLY & DELIVERY

Once produced, I’ll proceed with the assembly process in one week, and then with packing your stationery the most caring way. I always send with UPS Express shipping (free for my clients), which takes approx 1 to 3 business days.

I take on limited projects each year to get fully involved in each one. Due to my limited availability, I’m currently offering envelope calligraphy addressing only to those clients that are booking their whole wedding invitation suite with me.

Understand your options

choose your preferred paper

OPTION 1: HEAVY WEIGHT CARDSTOCK (used for digital printing)

Depending on your selection, I’d recommend you the better paper to use for your invitations.

All my invitations, when digital printing on heavy weight paper option is selected, are printed on heavyweight cardstock of a minimum of 111 lb weight. Depending on the design and colors selected, I’ll recommend you the paper that better serves (through tone and texture) the esthetics you’re looking for.

OPTION 2: HANDMADE PAPER (USED FOR BOTH DIGITAL PRINTING OR LETTERPRESS PRINTING)

The most delicate shades of handmade paper. Each sheet is unique in form and color and therefore perfectly imperfect. 100% cotton paper handmade by devoted artisans in Austria. It’s taken me time to find the most high quality handmade paper, and if you’re willing to spend more on your wedding invitation suite you deserve the best of the best. Here it is.

All my invitations, when digital printing on handmade paper option is selected, are printed on the most beautiful sheets of handmade paper with those characteristics deckled edges (white I love). Depending on the design and colors selected, I’ll recommend you the shade of paper that better serves (through tone) the esthetics you’re looking for.

OPTION 3: DOUBLE THICK CARDSTOCK (USED FOR LETTERPRESS PRINTING)

When letterpress printing is selected, the paper used is 100% cotton paper of a minimum of 184 lb weight (double thick cardstock). Depending on the design and colors selected, I’ll recommend you the paper that better serves (through tone and texture) the esthetics you’re looking for.

ENVELOPES

We’ll decide together the perfect shade of the envelope once we have all the production options decided, to finish the whole set with a piece that perfectly matches the rest of the pieces and that will be hand calligraphed with the same style of calligraphy of your invitations: the final touch for the most special wedding invitation suite.

My envelopes are exclusively made at the studio with special papers selected by shades and texture. They weight a minimum of 75 lb (175 gsm).

PRINTING METHOD

All the suites look amazing in digital printing (the process is in-house so I can guarantee the high-quality of each printed piece) but if you can afford the letterpress printing… well, you should definitely consider it!
