Hi there, I’m so glad you’re here. I’m María, the calligrapher and wedding stationer behind The Spaniel Studio, now based in beautiful Pensacola, Florida. My work is rooted in timeless elegance, refined craftsmanship, and the belief that every meaningful moment deserves to be celebrated with intention and beauty.
The Spaniel Studio was born in Madrid in 2019, inspired by my love for calligraphy and fine stationery, and built upon more than a decade of experience working with brands in the world of public relations. Soon after, a move to New York City marked a true turning point. Immersing myself in the world of American weddings broadened my perspective and shaped the signature style that defines my work today.
Alongside my work for couples, I also collaborate with luxury brands, creating elevated calligraphy experiences and bespoke pieces for events and activations. I’ve had the honor of partnering with houses such as Cartier, Montblanc, Carolina Herrera, Tiffany & Co., Brooks Brothers, and Prada, among others.
Today, from my coastal studio in Pensacola, I work with clients across the U.S. and beyond; couples who value artistry and romance, and brands that understand the power of timeless details. None of this would have been possible without Fernando, my greatest support and the love of my life, and Molly, our sweet English Cocker Spaniel, proudly born in Virginia and now the studio’s unofficial muse.

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN AND HOW IT’S GOING NOW
2017: The year I first picked up a calligraphy nib
It all started with a calligraphy class my sister-in-law invited me to. I immediately fell in love with the art of calligraphy and began devoting my spare time to perfecting it, while I was still immersed in the corporate world, working in Public Relations.
2019: The year that changed everything
I took the big (and scary) step of launching The Spaniel Studio in Madrid, leaving the corporate world behind while using the knowledge I gained there to grow my own business. From the start, I focused on two kinds of clients: weddings and brands. I haven’t regretted it for a single moment.
2021: Moved to NYC and never looked back
We moved to NYC from Madrid, where I began working with American couples, a turning point for my business. Captivated by the US approach to weddings, I decided to bring my European sensibility to each project, blending timeless design, refined details, and a curated aesthetic.
2025: Settled in Florida
We moved to this charming corner of the Sunshine State, full of Southern charm, and I quickly fell in love with this place. From Pensacola, I continue offering my wedding stationery to couples across the US, bringing the same aesthetic that defines my work (perhaps with a new subtle coastal touch) to every project.
