There've been crazy heat days, weeks of overcast skies and many summer thunderstorms. I read the other day in The New York Times that this has been the second wettest summer in the city's history. We had some weeks off before getting back to our routines, so our idea was to spend some days in one of those dream New York beaches (yeah, we were totally thinking of the Hamptons, until we saw the hotel prices during High season).  Those beautiful beaches will definitely have to wait.August is that month to escape from the city.
