I’ve been living in New York for more than 3 months now (wow), I’ve never been here so long and I really feel that this living in NYC thing is a reality. When I created this blog I did it thinking that I personally would like to know the experience of a Spaniard living in New York and that, like me, it probably happened to some of you. And in this New York life there is a lot of routine that I think I’m not showing you and that from this week I’m going to start sharing with you. Because Central Park and Greenwich Village and many other places are wonderful, but the truth is that I only go there on weekends because I have to work on weekdays. And if you’re here it’s because that work, which is called The Spaniel Studio, is something you also want to see, and if it’s behind the scenes even better, am I right?
Since the subject has come up, let’s go back to Central Park. The place where our weekends begin and end, for a reason. When I need to clear my head, when I miss more than I should, when I need to stop, Central Park welcomes you and rocks you so you can go back to work refreshed. It is so beautiful in these sunny fall days that no photo or video can capture it (I’m trying hard to show it to you, it’s the thought that counts). Last weekend we also went to the Downtown, almost more as a pretext to take the Ferry, the cheapest boat trip ($2.75, same as taking the subway) with the best views of the New York skyline. When you come back, instead of going back to the hotel by subway, come back by Ferry and you tell me about it.
New York’s fall is moving forward slowly and, as I remembered it, it’s treating us wonderfully, with sunny days to be enjoyed outdoors (those plans that, I’m afraid, are going to be over soon). And I, who love to get myself into the mood, I’m into the slow cooking now, that I’ve discovered here and it turns out that it is very healthy (and delicious, too). To counteract this, we continue with our pancakes on the weekends. With butter. And maple syrup. So at seven in the evening we remain faithful to our appointment with the gym. You know, to squeeze New York you have to be in shape.
New York is beautiful. You’ll see it in the video. Thanks for being there. Next week, more ♥
